Let’s Charrette!

On September 4th, the Citizens of the Town of Lawrenceville will engage in an exciting, interactive experience that will determine the future of the Town.  As a follow-up to the 2006 Visioning session, the Charrette will focus on applying the vision to very specific physical changes that citizens would like to see added or changed to the downtown.

Unlike a visioning session, which tends to be more abstract concepts, the charrette will focus its attention on specific improvements to buildings, streets, public amenities, beautification, parks, and land-uses. The charrette harnesses the creativity of both planning professionals and local citizens to produce a working plan the contains site plans, renderings, elevations, and policy recommendations.  The plan can then be used by local government to improve zoning ordinances as well as target funding sources for implementation of the Citizens’ Vision.

What is the Charrette?
